If you’re looking for a case to protect your Archos when it gets thrown in a bag or a coat pocket then this case is for you. The zipper is much better than the velcro used in a bunch of other cases (velcro wears out faster and has that loud, annoying sound). This case is very well constructed.
The Archos 5 is simply not a player that you just walk around with in your pants pocket. It’s a bit too big for that. Mine either sits on my desk at work, in the car mount, or on the mini-dock at home. This case works great for transporting it between those locations because I don’t have to worry about dropping it or having anything penetrate the neoprene. It’s pretty thick neoprene and provides a bit of cushion.
I would give 5 stars, but the case is a little bit larger than I expected. I thought the Archos was going to fit snugly inside, instead there’s a lot of room for it to move around. This may be a good thing for people that want to put their ear buds in the case with the player.
