battery life is only 1 hours, the price is to hi and u have to buy everything for separy , the dvr all assesory for separey.

I GOT THE ARCHOS IN TODAY, THIS PRODUCT IS SUPER SLOW! I CAN’T STAND IT. THE RESOLUTION OF THE VIDEO IS ALSO POOR. THE RESOLUTION ON THE IPOD IS 100x BETTER!!!

Okay, so I don’t have this device yet, but there are some major problems with the predecessor the 605 that I want to find out if they have been resolved with the 5 before I would consider buying it. I know that I should technically have the device before I “review” it, but no one has addressed all this stuff yet in their reviews.
1.) Is the battery power better and does it last longer? 605 only lasted like 5 hours if you were lucky.
2.) Does the volume go real high now? The 605 would not go up very high on volume which was really limiting.
3.) Does it crash!!?? The 605 crashes a lot. Hopefully the new processor in the 5 keeps it from crashing, but I want to know for sure.
4.) Can you finally surf the internet and listen to music at the same time, and do other things at the same time as listening to music.
5.) Is it easier to make a playlist on the fly? It was really hard on the 605.
6.) Is there a way to queue up songs that is better than the 605 where you could only choose one song to play after the current song? I mean come on, a DJ might want to queue up several in a row, and that was impossible with the 605.

Charbonnier — You own a Archos sight and are a huge Archos fan. You would praise this thing no matter what. This thing is one giant bug. I notice you went to each new version of the unit to post this crap. I suppose you own one of each? You live in the UK anyhow, so why are you on here pumping your crap on the US Amazon version. You really are sad with your obsession with hating Apple. I own both the itouch and the Archos 5 now. The Archos has to many issues to even hold a candle to the FAR more stable itouch. Stop posting lies to pump up your stock. You are misleading people who should know the truth. Don’t believe me? Go look at the review from an impartial side at engadget. c o m

I did ordered but i did never received. i did contact amazon and they were supposed to get back to me but it did not happend. $279.00 + tax on the air.
